A Few Words From Our Friends...
South Arundel Veterinary Hospital is honored to have clients who value the difference a caring staff can make in the life and health of family pets. The Edgewater area has changed and grown significantly since we first opened, over 50 years ago. Since then, we have had the good fortune to make great friends of both the human and animal kind. It is with great pride that we share the following testimonials with you.
I have been coming here for around 15 years with my pets, and I attribute much of the reason for their longevity and great quality of life to the veterinarians and staff at South Arundel Veterinary Hospital. They take the time to get to know each of their patients and their owners and are always willing to listen and respond to questions and concerns. I have found them to be very responsive when my pets have had special needs, and they consistently gone above and beyond to provide personalized care. I can't say enough good things about them! - Amy B.
Thank you to Dr. Rattner and all the caring and skilled staff at SAVH for taking such wonderful care of my Service Dog and teammate. - Nancy P.
Today, receiving medical care can be a perfunctory experience. The idea of the doctor with the warm bedside manner has pretty much gone by the wayside when it comes to humans. In and out in 5 - 10 minutes seems to be the norm. That is why taking my cats to South Arundel Veterinary Hospital (SAVH) in Edgewater, MD has been such a terrific experience these past 30 years. If don't yet have a vet or are looking to change, you can't do better than SAVH. For the past 7 years I have had as my cats' doctor a wonderful man who was just as the 2010 recipient of the Maryland Veterinary Association's The Good Doctor award. But 'good doctor' doesn't due him justice. Dr. Zaun Kligge is a great doctor! When was the last time your doctor called to check on how you were doing? When did you really feel you were an integral part of the medical team and not just an inanimate object in the examining room? When did you get the impression the doctor thought you were intelligent and deserving of a careful explanation of diagnoses, recommended treatment and likely outcomes? When did you believe the doctor was concerned with you alone, even though you knew there were other patients waiting and other matters on his mind? With Dr. Kligge my answer would be always. My cats and I have always received white glove treatment at SAVH and from this marvelous doctor and very caring technical staff (and the friendliest greeting and help from all the administrative personnel, too). If you value your pets and want the best for them, I recommend you check out South Arundel Veterinary Hospital. I say without any reservation that it's a place that offers comfort for your pets and provides you with assurance that they are getting the best treatment possible. - Mephs Mom
I just wanted to say how much I love SAVH. I came here with my mom when we first moved to Annapolis when I was a little girl and still come here with my pets at the age of 35. From the front desk to the doctors, they are beyond exceptional. Thank you South Arundel for being above and beyond outstanding. We all love you. - Rebecca B.
So glad my daughter Deb recommended SAVH to me 10 years ago when I brought my first puppy home! Dr. Myers.....you're such a caring person and a wonderful vet. Front desk ladies....you're delightful and I always leave with a smile on my face! Kennel techs.....when I leave my pups with you I know they'll be cared for and loved. Denise.....so glad you're making my pups look fabulous! Thanks everyone! - Anne V.
We trust the veterinarians at South Arundel Veterinary Hospital with the care for all of our pets. They are great at offering advice and take their time explaining what is going on with our pets. We are always so impressed with how professional everyone is. - Erin B.
I feel so blessed to have such a great group of talented doctors and techs upon whom I can rely for the best possible care for my family of animals. - Sherri M.
What a wonderful place to take your beloved pet. We had a 170 pound Great Dane. The treatment from the entire staff, the doctors, techs and everyone else made us feel like part of their family. The took such good care of our dog and when it came to our most difficult time to let him go they were so caring and compassionate. Dr. Myers, Dr. Kligge, and Dr. Bailey were supremely concerned and caring about any issue we wanted to discuss. They listened and, took the time to really hear what we were trying to say. South Arundel Vet Hosp. is an establishment that we will talk about and highly recommend for all of our friend’s pet needs. - Dean O.
We have been coming to SAVH for some 25 years now. We have always found competent and caring medical help for all of our cats and dogs. The front office is cheerful and efficient and all of the doctors have been great although we have to give special mention to Dr. Anillo who is adored by our present family dog. SAVH was especially helpful and compassionate during the last illness of our beloved dog "Lady." - Floyd G.
South Arundel Vet Hospital is the best around town. I am blessed that my dog receives such excellent care from the entire staff, from the front desk, techs, doctors, etc. Everyone has done amazing things with Charley and finding a solution to his problems. I feel very comfortable leaving him in their care, while on vacation, etc. I highly recommend SAVH to any fellow pet lovers. - Kay M.
Dear Dr. Francine Rattner of the South Arundel Veterinary Hospital in Edgewater:
I want to thank you, your technical assistants, among them Kat and Sarah, and the front office staff for helping me through a tough four weeks. When I discovered through a biopsy and X-rays that my back toe was damaged and needed amputation, I was devastated! But you did such a good job with everything. Two weeks later I feel as good as new. It was not easy recovering after the operation.
Thank you for letting me come in every morning for five days to have your assistant change my bandage. It meant so much to me and to my loving parents to have a big, safe protection on my poor paw. I loved the tiger print that you used. It helped so much in my recovery.
Zoe Norris, Chesapeake Bay retriever, Edgewater
P.S.: My parents call my wounded paw “The Magic Wand.” You touch my paw and I will grant you your wish.- Mentioned in The Capital Gazette
