Francine K. Rattner, V.M.D.
Hospital Director
Dr. Rattner graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and has been with South Arundel ever since.
She has served on the Public Relations Committee of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association and is a past-president of the Anne Arundel County Veterinary Medical Association.
Over the years, she has developed an interest in Holistic medicine as an adjunct or alternative to conventional treatment. She has completed an extensive training course in Homeopathic Medicine and is certified by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy. Providing optimal health for your pets through nutrition counseling is also a large part of the holistic aspect of her practice.
She and her husband have a son, Alex. The other family members are Cosette, a rescued cairn terrier and the newest addition Satay, a rescued stray kitten. When she has spare time at home, Dr. Rattner enjoys gardening, photography and kayaking.
Justine R. Annillo, D.V.M.
Dr. Annillo is one of several doctors at South Arundel who grew up in Pennsylvania, but has since found her way to Maryland. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.
While in veterinary school, she developed a strong interest in dermatology and all things feline. She has taken several continuing education courses in feline medicine and has done volunteer work with a feral cat TNR program in Pittsburgh. She has also volunteered her services with our local SPCA spay-and-neuter-a-thon.
Dr. Annillo and her husband Joe have two cats: Soda and Huckleberry. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.
Zaun D. Kligge, D.V.M.
Dr. Kligge grew up in rural Newburg, Pennsylvania. The oldest of three brothers, he spent most of his time in the outdoors where he developed a fondness for nature and animals. He began his studies at Shippensburg University before moving to Virginia and graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in biology in 1997. It was in Charlottesville that Dr. Kligge discovered his calling while working at a local companion animal practice. He is a 2003 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, where he met and fell in love with his classmate and wife, Alison Edge, D.V.M.
Upon graduation in 2003, Dr. Kligge began working at South Arundel Veterinary Hospital. At South Arundel he has expanded his interests in radiology, cardiology, ultrasound and internal medicine, with an additional 70 hours of continuing education in ultrasound. Dr. Kligge has participated in the VMRCVM mentor program, he was the 2008-09 President of the Anne Arundel County Veterinary Medical Association and was honored to receive the 2010 MVMA Good Doctor Award at the summer conference in Ocean City.
He resides in Annapolis with his wife Alison, his daughter Aisley and his son Soren. They share their home with Cody, a Golden mix and their cats, Fergus and three-legged Cricket.
Dr. Kligge is an avid golfer and also enjoys hiking, tennis and summer trips to Cape Cod.
Heather L. Myers, D.V.M.
Dr. Myers grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from The Ohio State Univeristy College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. During her undergraduate studies at Juniata College, she completed two summer internships at the Chespeake Widllife Sanctuary in Bowie, MD.
After graduating from Ohio State, she practiced at a small animal veterinary hospital in Ohio for one year. During that time she developed a special interest in dermatology and internal medicine. She and her husband relocated to Edgewater in 2004.
Dr. Myers and her husband have two dogs, a mutt named Daisy and Murphy the Beagle. They also have two cats, Sassy and Dandy Lion. In their spare time they enjoy visiting the dog park, boating and rollerblading.
J. Catherine Adsit, D.V.M.
Dr. Adsit grew up on a small family farm in central New York. After graduating from Cornell University in 1981, she founded a practice near Albany, NY where she worked extensively with pet birds and other exotic species.
Her community and professional leadership activities included serving as President of the Capital District Veterinary Medical Society, Regional Director for AAHA, co-founder of the Capital District Cage Bird Club, church youth fellowship leader and she has been a frequent radio talk show guest.
Dr. Adsit adopted two children who remain in New York to attend school. Currently she shares her home with two rescued cats, Annie and Ketu. Her hobbies include home rehabilitation, furniture making, gardening, scuba diving, shooting and hanging out with her nephews.
