South Arundel currently treats birds, reptiles, chickens, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and other pocket pets, in addition to cats and dogs. At this time we do not treat poisonous reptiles or monkeys.
Our avian and exotics doctors are Francine Rattner, VMD and Patricia Ware, DVM. Dr. Rattner was trained at the University of Pennsylvania in exotic pet medicine and surgery. She also volunteered in the Special Species Clinic and student-run wildlife clinic. Dr. Ware graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, with clinical rotations at Guelph University in Toronto and Oklahoma State veterinary schools. Both Dr. Rattner and Dr. Ware continue to attend conferences and lectures given by experts in the field to stay abreast of the latest innovations.
Please contact us to help care for your bird, reptile, rabbit, chicken, guinea pig, ferret, hamster or what ever unusual critters are part of your family. Before you get a new pet, or as soon as you do, schedule a Wellness exam to have your pet examined and get all the information you need about proper feeding, housing and grooming. If you think your pet is sick or injured, don't wait to see if they'll get better on their own. A day without eating can be life-threatening for a rabbit. If we are unable to help you with a difficult problem, we'll refer you to a board certified-specialist in the area.
When you are ready to schedule an appointment, contact us via phone (410-956-PETS 7387) or online at this link.
(If your pet is in need of immediate care or you are unsure, please call instead of using the online appointment request!)
After you've scheduled an appointment with us for your bird or exotic pet, please download the the new client/patient form to fill in prior to your arrival.
